Looking back over the past 10 days of training I can feel spiritual warfare all around me. The devil comes to steal and destroy, but as much as he tries to shake me I have been reminded by family and the Lord himself, that He is the Prince of Peace. The Prince of Peace! Walking into the training camp I tried to come in with no perspective, no expectations, I wanted God to mold and shape me even if it meant it was just God and my raw emotions. God taught me patience through the trials of being stripped of all my comfort. It was tough adjusting to constantly being outside especially in hot and humid Georgia. Our only opportunity to go inside was worship and our sessions. Along with that God taught me gratitude. Once I learned that we would be receiving three small meals a day and you never knew what you were going to get, well that was a hard pill to swallow. Sometimes you were given pulled pork with mac and cheese and salad, other days you got a tortilla, cucumbers and honey and that's your only food for the next 7 hours. God sure kept me on my toes, but the training was so worth it. Most of all God taught me the importance of unity. In my team there is 10 of us including our leader. If God didn't constantly feed us with humility we probably would have yanked each others hair out by now, instead God has given us so much grace. We were living in a 10 person tent so space was limited, emotions were wild, but I can tell you the smell was more wild! 10 of us all in a tent for 10 days didn't stay clean for long, but it was a moment for us to bond which came in handy before traveling half way across the world together! I can't wait to see where God takes us, not just on the trip, but all the blessings He will do in our hearts.
